Our BLS course is designed for anyone who must be prepared to respond effectively in life-threatening emergencies like:
At Sacramento CPR Classes, our BLS blended learning course offers comprehensive training in essential life-saving techniques to healthcare professional and layperson. Beyond just the BLS course, we also emphasize developing leadership and communication skills in our students to empower them to approach any situation with confidence and composure. Here’s what you’ll learn in detail:
Our BSL course in Sacramento covers the latest CPR techniques, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and ventilation devices, while also integrating essential first aid classes. You’ll also learn how to assess the victim’s condition, perform CPR effectively, and provide basic first aid for various medical emergencies. Additionally, we provide training in both multiple rescuer CPR, where teamwork is essential, and single rescuer CPR, for situations where immediate assistance may be limited.
We provide hands-on training in the proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). AEDs are portable devices that deliver an electric shock to restore normal heart rhythm in individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. You’ll learn how to operate an AED safely and efficiently to maximize the chances of survival for cardiac arrest victims.
Proper airway management is crucial for delivering oxygen to vital organs, especially during cardiac arrest or respiratory distress. In our BLS course, you’ll learn essential techniques like the Head-Tilt-Chin-Lift and Jaw-Thrust methods. These skills will help you ensure adequate oxygenation and ventilation in emergencies. Plus, we’ll cover the BLS algorithm to guide you in responding effectively when every second counts.
Early recognition of life-threatening emergencies is critical for timely intervention and improved outcomes. Our course focuses on the importance of recognizing signs and symptoms of common medical emergencies, such as heart attack, stroke, and respiratory distress. You’ll learn how to assess the victim’s condition, prioritize interventions, and activate emergency medical services (EMS) when needed.
You can acquire our AHA BLS Certification in just two phases.
In the first phase, students will engage in a self-paced series of online training modules. The online training lasts for about 30 minutes to 2 hours. The time period depends on individual experience levels.
After the online training phase, you will move into the second phase. In the second phase, students will undergo skills practice and testing. This takes place at our facility and involves the use of a VAM (voice-assisted manikin). This session can last between 20 minutes to 1 hour. Instructors will not be physically present during the skills session. However, they will be accessible if assistance is required. Students will be guided through the skills session by the computer and the manikin. After you complete both phases, you are ready to acquire your BLS certification card the same day you complete the test.
BLS Certifications are valid for only two years, so you have to renew them. To avoid any lapse, you must enroll in recertification classes before your certification expires. Sacramento CPR Classes also offers BLS renewal courses for healthcare providers and laypersons who want to update their skills and certifications. If you enroll before the expiry date, students will only need to complete a skills test lasting about 20 minutes to 1 hour to obtain their BLS certification card. However, if you miss the expiration date, you will need to complete both the online training and the skills test to regain your certification.
