You can acquire your AHA BLS Certification in just two phases.
In the first phase, students will engage in a self-paced series of online training modules, which last from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on individual experience levels.
The second phase involves skills practice and testing at our Citrus Heights and Arden facilities, both conveniently located near Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, just a short drive from Sacramento, Folsom, Elk Grove, and Rancho Cordova. This hands-on session lasts between 20 minutes to 1 hour. You practice essential life-saving skills using a voice-assisted manikin (VAM). While instructors are not physically present during the session, they will be accessible for assistance. The manikin guides you through the process, and after successfully completing both phases, you will receive your BLS certification card the same day.
BLS Certifications are valid for only two years. To avoid any lapse, you have to enroll in recertification classes before your certification expires. Sacramento CPR Classes also offers AHA BLS renewal courses for both healthcare providers and laypersons. If you enroll before your expiration date, you will only need to complete a quick skills test, which takes between 20 minutes to 1 hour, to receive your BLS certification card. However, if your certification has expired, you must complete both the online training and the skills test to regain BLS certification. The same process applies if you hold ACLS certification or PALS certification. BLS certifications issued by the AHA are valid for a period of two years. You must complete a brief renewal / retaining course before the expiration date.
